Celeb MUA Launches Beauty Line—First Product is Blunder Cover

Makeup artist Monika Blunder has launched her own namesake brand—and is partnering with Terracycle to collect packaging back from consumers.

Celebrity makeup artist Monika Blunder has launched Monika Blunder Beauty.

Blunder explains in the video below why she decided to use her name for her new brand, how she created the artwork on the packaging, and more. Blunder’s celebrity clients have included Gemma Chan, Megan Fox, and America Ferrera.

The first product is called Blunder Cover, an all-in-one hybrid concealer/foundation enriched with healing botanicals, including edelweiss and arnica. It includes seven shades (for now), which are designed to mix together.

The line also includes the Hybrid Face Brush, with synthetic bristles.

The brand is ‘clean’—but by EU’s strict standards, which bans more than a thousand more potentially dangerous chemicals than the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Blunder tells Allure, “To be EU compliant, it’s more difficult because the ingredient list has to be even cleaner.”

Recyclable Packaging Will Be Collected

Blunder Cover is packaged in a glass jar. An artist designed the logo, which is an edelweiss, inspired by Blunder’s home town in Austria.

Allure reports that the brand is currently working with Terracycle, and customers will soon be able to request branded envelopes to shop back their empty Monika Blunder packages.

Recyclable cosmetic packaging from other brands can be put into the envelope as well, which Terracycle will reuse and upcycle.
